Evin McGuane Wins Fogerty Cup 2025
Thursday 29th May saw the first club major of the year take place with the historic Fogerty Cup competition being held in the evening.
There was a superb turnout for the event with members both new and old turning out in what ended up being a field of 32 competitors.
Evin McGuane emerged victorious with a very impressive Nett 80 score, scoring level par gross in a very impressive performance in wet and windy conditions, a very well deserved victory and proof that working hard on your game can reap rewards even when frustrating at times!
There were other notable performances with Brian Dillon coming runner up with an impressive 87 Nett (-5). A newer member making their Fogarty cup debut, Jim Jackman scored s very impressive Nett 89 (+5). Returning with his first competition appearance since 2023 Patrick Mitchell put in a great score of -8!
It was great to see so many out supporting the event, the course looked immaculate with the work from the grounds team evident and a very worthy winner in Evin was victorious. Thanks to all who put so much effort into a great competition and now there is enough space on the trophy for another 70 years of winners!
