An excellent all round performance from Ardnacrusha and its members as Ger and Brian take titles!

The weekend of the 12th & 13th April saw the annual County Board matchplay championship take place with Bruff Pitch and Putt Club hosting this years event. The course was in excellent shape and the sun was shining on what was an sucessful weekend for Ardnacrusha picking up 2 of the 3 trophies on offer. Ger Kehoe claimed the intermediate title with an impressive 6&5 victory over Niall Seery of Cil Na Mona. In the Junior grade it was an all Ardnacrusha final with club captain Brian Andrews against Pat "Coco" Ryan, Brian's luck was in and emerged as winner with a 7&5 victory and a hole in one on the 13th to finish the contest, the match being much closer than the score line suggests!

There was an incredibly impressive performance from the clubs members all round in all 3 categories.

In the seniors category Michael Darcy made it through to the semi final where he ended up losing to James Ryan of Bruff.

In the intermediates aside from Ger Kehoe winning the title there were great performances from Emmet Fitzgerald who made it to the Semi Final where he lost to eventual winner, Ger Kehoe. Ger Roche also made it through to the quarter finals after a closely contested match with John Mulqueen.

In the Junior category there was a very strong showing from the club, aside from Brian winning we had Pat "Coco" Ryan as runner up. Coco had a hard fought semi final against Mike Kenny taking it to the 36th hole. We also had Darren Mulqueen and Brendan O'Connor through to the quarter finals, Brendan with an impressive 4&3 victory over Billy Griffin of Cil Na Mona in the last 16 tie.
